CMA with Mac Powell….”June Bug”
On June 7th, I decided to take a trip (well, my parents & I decided to take a trip) to Nashville, TN for CMA week and to see Mac Powell (of the Christian band, Third Day). He will still be front man with Third Day but this was the premier of his new country band. Wow! We had a great time and, of course, Mac Powell & the guys did amazing! The song “June Bug” is available for download now but I can’t wait for the CD to be released because everyone is going to love it.
I went to dinner with the band after the show which was a lot of fun and gave us all some time to chat plus I was able to meet and get to know Lacey Brown from American Idol season 9, we really hit it off and hope we keep in touch. Please go check out her website and go to one of her shows.
Here’s a picture of me with Mac Powell, Jason Hoard (BlackCat Studios), Matthew Bailey, Drew Amerson and Brandon Coker…..Love these guys! **Disclaimer…I’m really not this short or slouchy, I’m trying to make sure that we can see everyones face in the picture.
Coming up this weekend……
This Saturday night, June 2nd, I’ll be the entertainment at Partner’s Pizza in Fayetteville, GA from 7:00 – 10:00 PM. Some of my musician friends will be coming out to join me and play a couple of their songs and I’ve been told that their also having a Car Show. There’s something for everyone!
This Sunday, June 3rd, I’ll be at North Point Church in the West auditorium Main Worship, where Jeff Henderson will finish his series, “Climate Change”. singing background vocals for my sweet friend Candi Shelton.
By the way…Candi Shelton makes the best and prettiest cupcakes EVER!!!! This one is Strawberry Lemonade.
Memorial Day
The Memorial Day Celebration in Senoia GA was a big success! We were worried that it might get rained out but the rain stayed away and the crowd didn’t. There were a lot vendors with crafts and all types of different activities for the entire family, and tons of delicious food! I was really happy to be entertainment at this event. My friend, Carlos Ivey, did a great job accompanying me on his 12 string, 6 string, violin/fiddle and mandolin. Wesley Culpepper from WC Sounds always does a great job running the sound and it was great to see my friend Charlie Filkens from “The Car Guys”.
A big THANK YOU to the city of Senoia for inviting me to be involved.
North Point Worship Leader Day Retreat
I love my North Point Ministries worship family! We had great sessions, lead by John Hambrick and tons of fun together! Where else could you find adults that are amazing singers, play instruments, lead worship, love God and play some serious wiffle ball, run screaming like a bunch of kids for the snow cone truck, eat snow cones and have crazy water balloon fights? So much fun and I’m so happy to be a part of this family!
Candi Shelton, Dee Dee Westbrook, Abbi Hoenstine and I continued our fun together by going to see our fellow worship leader family members, Chris Cauley & James David Carter perform at Firefly in Alpharetta. Awesome as always!!!
Graduation Day!!!!
On Monday, May 14th, my big sis, Kara, graduated from Emory University, Neil Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. She’s going to be an RN!!!!!
Way to go sis! Love you and so proud of you!!!!!!
My crazy family celebrating!!!
Mother’s Day
Sunday, May 13th was Mother’s Day and I had a great day with my mom. North Point Ministries really helped me give my mom a special gift when they asked me to sing the opening, Mother’s Day special, for North Point East on Mother’s Day. I was excited and honored and my mom was….beyond thrilled!
The song they asked me to do was “Like My Mother Does”.
